This holiday season is also a great time to ride NJ TRANSIT with your children. For the whole month of December, NJ TRANSIT has been offering customers its SuperSaver fare, which allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult, in effect from now until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3.
NJ TRANSIT is the nation's largest statewide public transportation system providing more than 925,000 weekday trips on 253 bus routes, three light rail lines, 12 commuter rail lines and through Access Link paratransit service. Riders 65+ or riders with a disability can qualify for a reduced rate with a Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP). An RRFP is given to you on an ORCA card. When applying for an RRFP, be sure to bring proof of age (65+), or proof of a qualifying condition or Medicare card. The permit is free, a replacement will cost $3. METRO's real-time bus tracking system has arrived. Now, you can text to find out when the next bus is leaving from your stop, you can watch your bus moving on a fancy map, you can download the MyStop app or you can sign up for alerts. So many ways to know when your bus is here!
Transit app: To help you get acquainted with riding a bus, we recommend you download the Transit app. The app tracks all DCTA buses and will show you in real time the location of the bus on the route you want to take. We also recommend you sign up for Rider Alerts, so that you receive a text message or email if the route you take is experiencing an issue.
If you are on campus and need to get back to your residence hall or car without walking during these early morning hours then please use a free ride code. The code will be valid throughout the semester.

DASH provides frequent, inexpensive and convenient bus service in downtown Los Angeles and in 27 neighborhoods all across the City of Los Angeles. Each route is designed to serve travel within that neighborhood and to connect to other regional transit services such as Metro Rapid and local routes, Metrolink and Metro rail lines.The fare is only 50 cents a ride with cash, 35 cents with a TAP card, 25 cents for seniors and the disabled. Access cardholders, Cityride cardholders, and students with a Metro Reduced Fare TAP card travel free.
LADOT Transit will offer free rides on DASH Buses for students in the City of Los Angeles starting from the 2019 school year. All students who qualify and apply for the Student K-12 and/or College/Vocational Reduced Fare TAP Card may ride the DASH for free, including non-school related trips.
Courtesy of VTA, Transit app users are automatically upgraded to the premium subscription of Transit, Royale for a period of 2 years beginning January 16, 2023. This exciting feature gives VTA riders a premium subscription with special features and customizable options all for free.
Riders can load cash value onto their PRONTO cards at ticket machines, retail outlets, and the MTS Transit Store or NCTD Customer Service Centers. Riders can buy one-way fares on buses with cash (no change given; not eligible for best fare or free transfers). Money cannot be loaded to PRONTO on buses.
